Who We Are
Research shows that in East Texas, approximately 65% of minors get their alcohol from friends and family. As a community, we have a responsibility as parents and neighbors to eliminate underage drinking.
Don’t Provide East Texas is an initiative to increase awareness about the role that adults, specifically parents can have in preventing underage drinking. Our goal is to increase your knowledge about the social, legal and financial consequences of providing alcohol to minors, and equip you with tips and resources that will help you prevent underage drinking at home.
The Impact of Underage Drinking
About Don’t Provide East Texas
We are a group of concerned community members, teaming up to prevent substance abuse among youth in East Texas. Together, we represent three coalitions that work across nine counties.

East Texas Substance Abuse Coalition covers Smith County. Piney Woods Substance Abuse Coalition covers Gregg, Harrison, Marion, and Upshur counties. Northeast Texas Coalition Against Substance Abuse covers Titus, Morris, Cass, and Camp counties.

Our coalitions operate under Next Step Community Solutions, a Tyler-based nonprofit that works to provide substance abuse prevention and education, training, and mental health counseling to youth in East Texas.

Business Spotlights:
We would like to thank the following companies for participating in our sticker campaign to get the word out throughout the year and supporting our efforts to keep our community safe for all our residents.
